Another thought provoking piece Valerie! Sometimes a map is worth a thousand words! I agree that the distinctions in geography buoys the movement.Despite their varied locales they have all achieved the same goal by taking the same steps. This reaffirms achieving No Kill is possible anywhere and it is not “where” but “whom”.

Minneapolis isn’t on the map (yet)as having achieved No Kill status (defined as a 90+% save rate). It was mentioned as a place with an active No Kill movement.

At the same time the very informative Blog “No-Kill News” seized operation as of today. No-Kill News reported about the journey of open admission Shelter to become No Kill.

I’m not sure why Minneapolis is listed. Minneapolis is not no kill. I wish it was, but we haven’t gotten there yet.

Thank you Valerie and Cathy Habas. That blank space across the southwest sure screams ‘Time to GET BUSY!’ Our neighbors in TX have a big jump on us here in NM. Time to catch up and dare we say, become the 1st No Kill state in the US!
